As many of you know, there was a large fire in the Forest Acres apartment complex in Haverhill on May 7, 2014. From that fire, there are 24-26 families now homeless. Several local organizations in the city of Haverhill are coordinating help for these families. Listed below are some of the most involved resources if you would like to donate any items:

  • The Salvation Army Church – 395 Main St., Haverhill. (978) 374-7571 Accepting donations. *Please call regarding furniture donations as space is very limited.* Volunteers are needed daily to help sort the donations M-F (9 am to 4 pm).

  • The Facebook page “Helping Those Affected by the Fire in Haverhill, Ma. on May 7th 2014” https://www.facebook.com/groups/1409001129379309/ This page has become the “go to” resource for finding out what needs are, and for posting resources and offering help from individual members of the community and groups that have reached out to help the families and people involved in the fire. This group is working in conjunction with the Salvation Army.

  • POSE Inc. A Local faith-based non-profit has been collecting donations at the Rehoboth Lighthouse Full Gospel Church on 409 Washington St. Haverhill and is willing to schedule pick ups of donations. They are also offering to provide transportation to the families to come pick up donations, and to volunteers to be able to come help sort donations.
